This item is a divine shell cameo brooch depicting goddess Demeter and set in 9ct yellow gold. This brooch is an antique and was produced in c.1880. The brooch has a c-clasp which fastens securely and has a brass pin and safety chain.

9ct yellow gold Shell cameo brooch. The brooch is oval shaped and carved into the shell is a woman’s face while she wears a wheat head dress. This woman is a representation of the goddess Demeter. The cameo is rim set with twisted wire and a flat surround with a brass pin safety chain.
